Karen Jackson MCSP

Karen has worked as a chartered physiotherapist in adult neurology for over 25 years, in the UK and in Canada, with extensive experience working in the NHS, the private sector, with in and outpatients and in a community setting.  This has enabled her to develop excellent insight into the client’s physiotherapy needs throughout their life.

She is a  specialist in the assessment, treatment and management of a wide range of neurological conditions such as brain injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy and spinal cord injuries, and feels that her interest in neurological physiotherapy is now  ‘in her blood!’.

Karen has completed basic and advanced Bobath training and also uses a variety of approaches to optimise a patient’s ability to reach their goals. A particular interest in hydrotherapy has developed, with an aquatic therapy qualification specialising in neurological conditions.

Karen also has considerable experience with older people in a nursing home and in their own homes, aiming to address their needs and enabling an improvement in mobility and quality of life.

Karen has studied neuro-physiotherapy at Masters Level and has research experience as a lead author. She has also undertaken medico legal training and provides reports for Claimant and Defendant cases with Edwards and Associates.

Karen is strongly motivated to provide excellent physiotherapy to meet the client’s needs, supporting them to be as able as they can be, and to living a life that is purposeful and meaningful again.

Karen is a member of the Health and Care Professions Council, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Neurology and the Medicolegal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
